STUART'S DIARY (newest entries listed first)
  • Entry #5 - Hello everyone, this is Stuart. Hmmm, so let's see, what's new? Foster mom cut off all my nice curls; she says I get too many mats with long hair. Well, I do not really have hands so I cannot brush my own hair and I guess foster mom is too busy taking care of all of us dogs to brush me every day. Sigh...oh well, at least she has time to hand out the treats every day. I like treats! I have also learned to "shake"; that means give foster mom your paw and she will give you a treat. I now know sit, down and shake. I also know when foster mom says bed time it means go to my crate (and get a treat--see the pattern here?). Wanna come see me do all my tricks? If you give me a little bit of time to see you are nice I'll shake paws with YOU too. I'd like to live with a lady who would take care of me and give me treats (and brush me too). If you know anyone like that send them my way!
  • Entry #4 - Hi everybody, this is Stuart again. Foster mom calls me Stuie which is sorta silly for a dog name but she says I'm a silly wiggle-butt (shhhh, don't tell anybody but I kinda like it). She says I need a haircut, see my new pictures? I'm a little shaggy I guess but it's my new look. Whadda ya think, I think I look distinguished and stylish, OK maybe not, but I'm still pretty cute right? I've just been hanging out with foster mom and the other dogs, enjoying myself. I'm working on my confidence so I can come to some 'dopshon events soon. I like people but they scare me sometimes, some people just don't wait for me to get to know them before they grab at me. If they'd just give me a second I'd come wiggling up to be petted. Foster mom says I have good house manners. Well, I may be silly but I am a gentleman after-all. Tell the rescue people if you think I'd be a good dog for you. Foster mom says a forever home of my own would make me feel even more confident and happy. I'm pretty happy now tho', that's why I'm a silly wiggle-butt I guess. Um OK, bye now and I'll write more later.
  • Entry #3 - Hey world, Stuart checking in. I got a foster home now, isn't that cool!! I sure like it. My new foster mom says I'm behaving myself really well (duh, 'course I am). She has so many dog toys here and I like to play with each and every one, for about 5 seconds each! Well, it's hard to make up my mind sometimes. I have three other dogs to play with and a nice warm place to sleep and foster mom gives me lots of hugs and lets me give her lots of kisses. Wow, what a life! Foster mom says a forever home of my own would be even better, I find that hard to believe but I'd sure like to try it. Foster mom is working with me on learning my manners better. I know sit and I'm learning down and she keeps saying "shake" when I lift my paw up to her. Not sure yet what that's all about (I only shake when my fur gets wet) but I want her to like me so I'm trying to figure it out. And she sure likes it that I know outside is the place to go potty (duh again). I'm telling her more about myself every day and soon maybe I'll come to something called a 'doption ee-vent and YOU can meet ME.
  • Entry #2 - Yo whasup? Life is interesting in Rescue. I sure would like a foster home of my own tho. See, I don't do so well around human men, so I'm looking for a special home - one without any of those in it. I just know my forever home is waiting to meet me - it was my New Year's Resolution! (insert tail wag here).
  • Entry #1 - Hey Dudette! My name is Stuart and I'm a 6 year old American Cocker Spaniel, just looking for a break. I was a stray, left at the shelter with no one coming to find me. Boy was I scared there! The first time Rescue met me, I showed them how big and tough I was. That was stupid of me. I asked them to come back and the next time they met me I wagged my tail and kissed the rescue lady's face. That did it - I'm a rescue dog now! I'm looking for a home that can be active with me, but that can help me grow my confidence and learn how to be a good doggie in all situations. I'd really really like a home without kids or men, tho - do ya know a good match for me? Send them over, and I'll wag my tail for them, too! Woof!
